What is this thing for any way?
Think of the Climber's NotePad as an Electronic Dairy for all of your climbing adventures.
How do I use it?
The Database contains about 10 records, you need to see how they are used. After you understand the listing you will be able to notice how the query s work. Then you can delete the pre-installed records and replace them with your own data.
How do I delete the records and replace them with my own data?
The easiest way to delete and add new records is from the Route, Alpine record at a time, Big Wall record at a time, Ice record at a time, Sport record at a time, Trad record at a time forms.
Can I delete them from any place?
Yes they are all related fields.
I downloaded your Climber's NotePad and installed it. It looks like it would
be a good program, but I can't get it to work. I get the first window that
says Harter-Climbing Climber's NotePad. I click that window and get the main
UI. When I click Start, I get a Climber's NotePad error: "Data error event
hit err:'C:\Program Files\Climber's NotePad\Climbing.mdb' isn't a valid
path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are
connected to the server on which the file resides." Maybe it's because I
installed the program to E:\Program Files\Climber's NotePad. It looks like
you may have hard coded an installation path somewhere, since it's looking
in C. I have Access 97, Word 2000, and Win98 SE.
The database is hard coded to that directory. Uninstall it. Then reinstall
it in the default directory. 'C:\Program Files\Climber's NotePad\' Everything wil
works fine as long as you let it go to the default directory. Sorry for the
inconvenience of not allowing you to chose your directory.
I downloaded the Climber's Notepad 2.1 Beta and am getting the following
error messages. During unzipping "Unable to create climbersrating.txt"
then during installation the program aborts with the message "unable to
locate climber's notepad.exe. The file shows in the directory but the
program doesn't locate it. Has anyone else reported this problem to
you. This sounds like a great idea if I can get it to work. No! My best guess is that you didn't get all files down loaded or you tried to place the programs in an other directory other than the default directory. As with all program when installing close all other windowed programs before you start your install.
I can't open anything could you send me a step by step instruction mail
thingy so that I may use your program. The program is very simple all you need to do is run WinZip on it. Click on Setup.exe and the program will install automatically. You must use the default directory as it is where imbedded files are placed for windows to use.
I am having a problem opening the zip file for the Climber's Note Pad Version
2.1 & the Rack Master. I have tried to download this a few times without any
luck. Let me know if the problem is on your end or mine.
Thanks for your help and a great site,
I have down loaded this program many time times from different locations, machines, and inter net service providers. I never have experienced any problems. How ever some times problems occur when down loading programs. As long as the down load is complete you will have no problems running the setup.exe file. Reboot your PC and you will find the Climber's Notepad in your program directory. Click on the icon and splash screen will appear simply click the mouse and you are taken to the start page.
